Leadership Training: Your Inner Circle

Hi team! So I wanted to talk to you guys about the importance of a TEAM!

You may have thought that you signed onto a team, and get to check in every so often, and get some great ideas from the other members. When in reality, you signed on to be apart of something a lot stronger and better!
I am reading this amazing book Leaders Eat Last, and wanted to share some takeaways from it.
Let's start with this example.
There is a pack of lions in Africa that keeps a close eye on a family of oxen. Every time the dominant lion would try and approach the oxen, they would turn into each other, back sides facing each other, in a circle and show their horns. Everywhere the lion looked, there were horns keeping him from being able to attack.
He waited though, and kept trying, until one day, the pack of oxen decided to separate and go look for some food. This was the lion's chance to attack... and he did. He took them down one by one until the whole family was gone.
So what can we learn from this and how does it help us??
When you signed on to be a coach you signed up to be a member of a family. This family takes care of one another, we share ideas freely, and look out for each other's best interest. Of course things will not always go as planned, but when push comes to shove, we will protect each other from the lion.
So here is my point... there is always going to be outside forces trying to come at you and break you down. We live in a fast world where things change daily. There will be new workouts, new trainers, new fad diets, new competitors, better technology, a failing economy, personal issues, and it just keeps going. That stuff WILL NEVER GO AWAY. It as always attack our tribe.
But here is the thing... because we are SO STRONG and band together when times get tough, those things WILL NEVER get through to our circle of trust.
Nothing can bring down a company faster than problems from the inside. No outside force is stronger than the forces that are on the inside. If we do not work together, and find solutions to problems quickly and become stronger because of it. Those outside forces will eat us alive.
So when people come at us and say, "Well I heard your customer service is awful and people get the wrong order all the time."
Do we throw our company under the bus and tell them yes we hate our service?
No! We come together and make a great solution to the problem. There is always be customer service issues with a growing company... but that person will not get better one on one service from their coach like we can offer!
He goes on to talk about the Spartan army. Each soldier went to war to protect their own, and would die to do so. They went into war with two things... a sword and a shield.
Which one do you think was considered the more important item to have when in war? The shield. It was a symbol of protecting not only yourself, but others. Shielding them from harm.
It is our job as LEADERS to create a culture inside our organization where people feel welcomed, recognized, and important. You are all super important to me, and important to this group.
Without that, we would have nothing.
Think of yourself as your own personal circle of trust.... do you love and honor yourself enough to be protected from the outside forces?
Personal Development and Proof the Product Works are two really great examples of how you can empower yourself from all those outside forces.
The doubters, haters... all the NO answers. People saying this is a scam and they want to go with another company.
Let it just roll off your back... because you protected your inner circle enough to know that it won't get you.
